We’ve released draft prices for WaterNSW’s bulk water services in Greater Sydney for the period 1 October 2025 to 30 June 2028. WaterNSW supplies bulk water to Sydney Water, local councils, and businesses. These prices can affect what households and businesses ultimately pay for water. Under IPART’s draft decision, prices would rise by around 10.4% per year (before inflation) — adding an estimated $7 to a typical residential bill in 2025–26, rising to $31 by 2027–28. This is lower than WaterNSW’s original proposal of 14% annual increases, but reflects the need to maintain critical infrastructure and ensure service reliability. IPART sets Hunter Water’s prices until 2030 We’ve released our decision on the maximum prices Hunter Water can charge for water, wastewater and stormwater services until 2030. Here are the key takeaways for customers: 📈 A typical household bill will increase by 6.9% in 2025–26 💵 That’s around $86 + inflation in the first year 📆 In the following years, the typical bill will rise by around $53 + inflation annually 💧 These prices will support the delivery of high-quality, reliable services 🤝 We’ve also recommended the NSW Government temporarily increase rebates to help ease cost-of-living pressures Read the full decision 👉 https://lnkd.in/gEnS-Nrp #HunterWater #IPART #WaterPrices #CostOfLiving #Regulation #CustomerImpact
