About us
We’ve ensured the smooth operation of over 13,085 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 128 substations and switching stations across NSW and the ACT, with interconnections to QLD and VIC. Our most crucial work is leading the transition to Australia’s clean energy future. The traditional coal system that served our country for decades is nearing the end of its life, to be replaced by wind and solar generation. We’re making the right decisions now to prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead – a changing climate, population growth and technology innovation. As we lead the way towards a more resilient future, we’re working closely with our customers and communities to make sure no one is left behind. Wherever you are in NSW or the ACT, you can be confident in the reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity we transmit as we make a better power system for generations to come.

We were proud to participate in this year’s WORKTECH Sydney Conference, an event that sparked meaningful conversations about the future of work and workplace culture. Our very own Maria Zoras-Christo, General Manager People, Culture & Workplace Relations, and Janet Okaro, People and Culture Business Partner, joined a panel of industry leaders to explore the theme: “𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱.” Janet led a dynamic discussion on how workplaces can evolve to reflect the values of emerging generations - particularly for Gen Z employees, highlighting the need for flexibility and purpose-driven environments. Maria shared her perspective on the evolving role of leadership as we prepare for future generations to enter the workforce, noting: “The role of the leader must evolve as we prepare for future generations to enter the workforce. These generations will arrive prepared and empowered to engage at all levels of the organisation and to operate in VUCA environments. With that, it’s more important than ever for leaders to continue adapting, remain agile, build purposeful connections, and engage with their people to ensure they feel valued and understand how they contribute. We are evolving towards more dynamic, transdisciplinary ecosystems rather than traditional hierarchies, enabling true collaboration, co-creation and diversity to thrive.” A big thank you to WORKTECH for hosting such a forward-thinking event, and to our fellow panellists for their insightful contributions. #WT25Sydney Iva Durakovic James Dellow

At this year’s #WomenInRenewables lunch at the Australian Clean Energy Summit 2025, our Executive General Manager of Network, Marie Jordan, joined a powerful conversation on how women are shaping the future of AI in ways that reflect their own leadership styles and values. The discussion highlighted the importance of diverse perspectives in the clean energy transition, and how AI can be used to amplify human insight, creativity, and visibility, rather than replace it. 🧠🎨 What a great way to hear from inspiring women who play a pivotal part in driving the clean energy future.👏 Anna Crawford Maria Zoras-Christo Malithi Gunawardana Maddie Clancy Jenna Connellan Freya Riddel Maricar H. #CleanEnergy #ACES2025 #WomeninRenewables #Leadership #AIandEnergy

The average Australian spends fewer than five years with the same organisation. Last week, we honoured a rare breed – people who’ve spent 25 years and more with the organisation. Transgrid hosted a special Service Recognition Dinner to honour 30 amazing individuals for their vital contributions to our role as proud custodian of the NSW transmission backbone. Transgrid’s Executive team hosted a celebration with dinner, dancing and recognition for this long-service group – with half the group serving 40 years or more. 👏One outstanding Substations Technician, Leonard Cain, has been turning up for 50 years, and in a truly exceptional case, Principal Engineer Don Geddey marked 60 years of service. Years of service aren’t just milestones; they’re examples of loyalty, purpose and legacy. We’re honoured to recognise these individuals and their contributions as we continue together on this journey to renewable energy transition. Through the early mornings and the callouts at all hours, on the front lines and behind the scenes, they’re helping Australia transition from coal-fired power to a renewable energy future. Above all, they’ve kept the lights on for people they’ll never meet. With deep appreciation, thank you from all of us at Transgrid! #People #EnergyTransition #Appreciation
