The past few days, the #OrbitInsertionModule (OIM) Proto-Flight Model (PFM) left our site in #Turin (IT), heading to #Stevenage (UK). The structure of the first flight module of the #EarthReturnOrbiter (ERO) Spacecraft recently passed the Qualification Static Test campaign with excellent results, demonstrating its robustness and versatile design, and the project received the go-ahead to proceed with shipment and delivery. This delivery marks the achievement of a key milestone for the project development, also confirming the firm commitment of Thales Alenia Space as a relevant international partner for future #Mars Mission. Thales Alenia Space is a key partner in the industrial consortium led by Airbus Defence and Space for the European Space Agency - ESA's Earth Return Orbiter (ERO) Spacecraft. We are responsible for providing the Orbit Insertion Module (OIM), the Communications & Data Relay sub-system, and for performing the overall spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) until the Launch Campaign. The Earth Return Orbiter (ERO) is ESA’s major contribution to the Mars Sample Return campaign designed to bring Martian rocks, soil, and atmospheric samples back to Earth. #spaceforlife Thales / Leonardo Walter Cugno / Roberto Angelini / Franco Fenoglio / Michael Coarezza

We are pleased to announce that the Preliminary Design Review of the EROSS SC (Servicing Component) system has just been successfully completed. The EROSS IOD (European Robotic Orbital Support Services In Orbit Demonstrator) program is set to validate cutting-edge technologies for robotic in-space servicing operations. This pioneering European mission will showcase satellite rendezvous, capture, docking, refueling, and payload exchange capabilities to extend satellite lifetimes while also limiting space debris. This Preliminary Design Review has enabled us to refine and mature the mission definition thanks to a wide range of experts appointed by the European Commission, by the consortium, and by Thales Alenia Space. The objectives of demonstrating autonomous robotics and rendezvous in space, and offering a first generation of operations in orbit with the Servicer, are now validated. The project is now on track, moving forward to the detailed design phase. Our next steps include: -Demonstrating that the technology is feasible under space conditions for the robotic arm by the end of this year, as it was achieved for Guidance, Navigation, and Control. -Presenting an intermediate status of the detailed phase to the reviewers by year end, to monitor progress. Launch is expected in 2028, followed by a demonstration phase covering the EROSS and DIANE projects’ objectives. The servicer will then be available for further use within the In-Space Operations and Services (ISOS), Pilot Mission, and other applications. The EROSS SC team is eager to assess candidates for “proto-services” in LEO. This achievement is the result of teamwork with all EROSS SC Consortium members. Their enthusiasm, commitment and competence have made this possible. Huge thanks to the European Commission for granting us the means to implement this wonderful project. #EROSS_SC #EuropeanCommission #OnOrbitServicing Thales Alenia Space European Commission

Our teams have reached a significant milestone in the development of the European Space Agency’s FLEX (Fluorescence Explorer) satellite: the assembly of the platform together with the Fluorescence Imaging Spectrometer (FLORIS) built by Leonardo has successfully been completed in our clean rooms of Cannes, southern France. This achievement was made possible thanks the hand-in-hand cooperation between our teams and those of Leonardo who supplied the high-resolution FLORIS instrument and the active support of ESA. FLEX satellite will map the fluorescence of the Earth's vegetation to better understand the state of health and vegetation productivity on a global scale. Information from FLEX will improve our understanding of how carbon moves between plants and the atmosphere and how photosynthesis affects the carbon and water cycles. FLEX will also provide a better insight into plant health. Understanding plant health and productivity is essential to managing resources. As prime contractor, Thales Alenia Space led the satellite platform assembly, integration and test campaign handled in Thales’ cleanrooms of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Now that the platform and the FLORIS instrument have been integrated in Cannes cleanrooms, our teams will manage the satellite’s environmental testing, ahead of the launch scheduled in 2026. Stay tuned for future program milestones! Thales Alenia Space Thales Leonardo Space European Space Agency - ESA Giampiero Di Paolo Bertrand Denis YVAN BAILLION Philippe Pelouas Huiban Thierry

Sentinel-1D spacecraft has successfully completed its fit check and drop tests at Thales Alenia Space in Cannes. This achievement results from seamless cooperation between the European Space Agency - ESA, ARIANESPACE, and Thales Alenia Space teams. In preparation for launch with the new Ariane 6.2 vehicle, the spacecraft was integrated with the launcher flight adapter and underwent a series of key tests: • Mechanical integration of the spacecraft onto the adapter • Electrical check of the umbilical lines using spacecraft test equipment • Mechanical and electrical fit checks between the spacecraft and adapter • Drop test to validate the separation system and measure shock levels The fit check ensures full mechanical and electrical compatibility between the spacecraft and the adapter, as well as accessibility for integration activities. The drop test simulates in-flight separation, validating functionality and characterizing the shock environment during release. Sentinel-1D is part of Copernicus, the European Union’s Earth Observation program, providing vital data to help us better monitor and protect our planet. Developed under the leadership of the European Commission, ESA manages spacecraft development, launch, and mission operations. This milestone brings us one step closer to strengthening Europe’s capability to monitor and protect our planet from space. Huge congratulations to all teams involved for their precision, commitment, and teamwork. 🚀 In the space sector, every detail matters, even sound. We are opening a new chapter in space testing innovation with Nebula Project: our next-generation DFAN (Direct Field Acoustic Noise) system, designed to overcome the limitations of acoustic qualification of satellites and subsystems at Thales Alenia Space's AIT Center in Rome. Our mission is to go beyond the traditional reverberation chamber with a more flexible, high-performance, and modular solution. Nebula is born from the union of highly specialized skills: on the one hand, Thales Alenia Space's experience in space acoustic testing, on the other, the audio expertise of dBTechnologies, an Italian leader in the design of professional audio systems. The name Nebula is inspired by nebulae, stellar nurseries and powerful symbols of transformation in the cosmos. Likewise, with this project, we can realistically reproduce the deafening roar of rocket engines, simulating the extreme conditions a satellite experiences during launch, with unparalleled precision. What makes Nebula a game changer: • Higher sound pressure levels in the target frequency bands • Improved field uniformity and acoustic diffusivity • Optimized hardware/software for control and diagnostics • Complete modularity thanks to an innovative speaker design • …and we're proud to be the only team in Europe to develop a DFAN system exclusively for the structural qualification of complete satellites. The first "zero series" is currently being tested in Rome with a satellite mock-up. Once the acceptance campaign is complete, we will move to full-scale production. A huge thank you to the Nebula team, whose expertise, passion, and forward-thinking mindset are making this ambitious project a reality. Sounds good, don't you think? 😊 #SpaceForLife #SpaceInnovation #Nebula Thales Leonardo Space Giampiero Di Paolo Alessandro Stolfa Piersante Micciche' Gawra Franceschini Vincenzo Di Pietro Alessandra Ciriello
