Test results
Patients should phone the practice for test results after 2pm. The usual wait times before telephoning for results are:
- Blood tests – 7 working days
- X-rays – 2-3 weeks
- Cervical smear tests – 6 weeks
Please remember it is your responsibility to contact the surgery about your results. The surgery will only contact you should the clinician feel further action needs to be taken.
Our Practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection, and we will only provide test results to the person to whom they relate unless prior consent has been given for the release of this data.
If you register with the following apps you can also view your results via NHS App
if you have been referred to a specific department within the hospital and that department have requested diagnostic tests such as CT scans, MRI Scans or endoscopy (camera into your body), the results will be returned to the requesting department and not your GP surgery.
Blood test at the Countess of Chester
If you have been directed to have blood test by healthcare professional, you can have your blood taken at the conveniently located GP Blood Test centre at the very front of the Countess of Chester Hospitals site. There is free parking for booked appointments and is situated away from the main hospital building. This is open Monday – Thursday 08:30 – 16:00 (last appointment 15:50) closed Friday and must be booked via their new online booking service. X-ray at the Countess of Chester
Patients are expected to ring the radiology appointment line on 01244 36 3043 to make an appointment if a GP has said that an x-ray is required.
