About the Greater Manchester Social Value Network (GMSVN)

The GMSVN is a cross-sector network that champions the role of social value in creating a fairer, greener, and more prosperous Greater Manchester. We bring together individuals and organisations from public, private, and voluntary sectors to share best practice, influence policy, and drive forward the social value agenda across the region.

We support organisations to embed social value in their work, collect and share evidence of impact, and collaborate on initiatives that improve social, economic, and environmental outcomes for our communities.

The Role

GMSVN are seeking a passionate and strategic individual to lead the network as Chair. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of social value in Greater Manchester and influence how organisations across sectors deliver meaningful impact. Applicants must be based in Greater Manchester.

As Chair, you will:

· Provide strategic leadership to the 12-member GMSVN Steering Group and wider network.

· Champion the social value agenda across Greater Manchester and beyond.

· Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders from all sectors.

· Represent the network at events, forums, and with key partners including GMCA, VCSE organisations, and businesses.

· Support the planning and delivery of 2 yearly events, campaigns, and quarterly communications.

· Ensure the network remains inclusive, transparent, and impactful.

What GMSVN are looking for:

· A strong commitment to social value and inclusive growth.

· Experience of working in or with public, private, or voluntary sectors.

· Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

· Strategic thinking and the ability to influence and inspire others.

· Experience of chairing meetings or leading collaborative initiatives (desirable but not essential).
