I am unable to delete an event from Outlook
Per https://community.spiceworks.com/t/outlook-calendar-keeps-coming-back-after-deletion/961999/7?u=rokejulianlockhart, I'm unable to delete a calendar event, for it re-appears upon: window.reload() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvcOVLD5RDc depicts what I see, but I've also attached an H265 MPEG-4 file in case that's ever unavailable.RokeJulianLockhartAug 01, 2025Copper Contributor137Views0likes6CommentsNew Outlook - Display settings for multiple rows are reset
Hi, Trying out the new outlook and have the Layout setting "Message Height" set to "Always use multiple rows". When restarting Outlook this setting is reset to the "Switch between one and multiple rows based on screen". Anyone else with this issue and maybe managed to solve it?EPNAdamAug 01, 2025Iron Contributor3.4KViews3likes4CommentsShared mailbox messages going to recoverable deleted items
Hi! Trying to solve an issue that's plagued me for a couple weeks. We have a shared mailbox hosted in Exchange Online that receives customer orders. We're discovering that many orders are somehow landing in the recoverable items section of deleted items and we've yet to find a root cause. Things I've tried: 1. Disable, then deleted, all mailbox-level rules on the shared mailbox. 2. Tried to get audit logs from protection.office.com - no results available. 3. Eventually stumbled on this article which lets me export logs to a CSV. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4021960/how-to-use-mailbox-audit-logs-in-office-365 However the logs are somewhat inconclusive. I see some actions like "SoftDelete" from users (which I think would not move the email to recoverable deleted items). I also see "MoveToDeletedItems" and "HardDelete". However there's only a handful of hard deletes - not enough to account for the hundreds of emails showing in recoverable deleted items. 4. Reset all users passwords. 5. Had their supervisor remind them no emails should be deleted, only moved to a folder called "Completed". Multiple users insist they understand this protocol and are following it. 6. Checked several suspect users in the audit log for Outlook issues, rules, ignore, or other reasons that might be causing it. Rebuilt a suspect user's Outlook profile. 7. Ran Get-InboxRule to see if there were any additional rules 8. Ran outlook.exe /cleanconvongoingactions to remove any ignores 9. Remove all mailbox permissions except for system ones (e.g. NT Authority\SELF, NAMPRD02\Exchange Users, etc.). Re-add to try to identify which users are causing deletes. As we've slowly re-added users we saw deletes stop for a while and thought we had identified a specific user, but today confirmed that is not the case - there's no specific user that appears to be the cause. Help? Any ideas?JustAnotherITGuyAug 01, 2025Copper Contributor19KViews0likes9CommentsEmails going to straight to the delete folder and being marked as read.

Since a recent update, Outlook for Mac now rolls up events into a plus(+) button on Day, Three Day, Working Week and Month views. What this means is that despite having plenty of space to show events, they're hidden behind another button. I have a very busy calendar and mostly use the month view - I have a portrait monitor particularly used for the calendar at the office which is now totally useless because all the real estate that aspect creates is wasted. I don't understand what added value the + button brings when there is space to be used and I have tried and failed to find something I can configure to change it! Month View Example - Seems to have a 7 event hard limit Day View Example - Hard limit of three for all day events I would also love love love the ability to scroll through months in month view - for example, in the last two weeks of a month I want to be viewing the next 4-5 weeks not two weeks in the past I don't care about and only two weeks into the future. Seems like an easy ask?dsavAug 01, 2025Copper Contributor11Views0likes0Comments16.99.1 - Bug with Draft emails
We have noticed that if you type a new email in version 16.99.1 and you draft the email in a non-popped window, if you go back to that draft email in your draft folder, the information you have type is missing. However, if you type in a popped window, the draft saves. This is the setting you need to set so all new emails and replies are in a popped window interface. It would be great if we could get a bug free release soon team. This one is a massive issue with staff members working on emails, only to find the information is lost if they aren't typing or replying in a new window.BradHAug 01, 2025Copper Contributor39Views0likes1CommentOutlook calendar: Syntax for describing meeting series is off
When I set up a meeting series to occur on the fourth Wednesday of each month, for example, the calendar invite defaults to read "Occurs every fourth Wednesday." This is incorrect. The problem is more obvious if the meeting falls on, say, the second Wednesday (or whatever day) of the month. The invite then reads "Occurs every second Wednesday." No it does not! "Occurs on the second Wednesday monthly" is what it should read. Please fix!!!BLDAug 01, 2025Copper Contributor33Views1like1CommentOutlook emails not sending (Error code: 0x80070005-0x000004dc-0x00000524)
I am going out of my mind and NEED HELP. PLEASE! :) A few days ago, my personal Hotmail account (no company Exchange etc) started to bounce back emails I send from or reply to from my Outlook client app (M365 install on W11). Full error message example below. Once I get it kicked back, hit the "send again" option, then first delete the recipients and then add them again...it sends okay. Very tedious and annoying over time of course! Everything works fine on the same Hotmail account on Outlook mobile, as well as OWA. All other email accounts I have work fine also. Based on my research (Google, Copilot and friends, etc.) it seems to be some "send on behalf of" issue, however I am not using any of that AFAIK. I have tried clearing Autocomplete Cache, rebuilt the relevant Outlook profile and finally completely uninstalled all M365 apps this morning and reinstalled everything. Same issue persists. HEEEEELP! And THANK YOU in advance! Full error message in attached fileachimdetAug 01, 2025Copper Contributor59Views0likes3CommentsOutlook Classic Locked Offline
I bought a new Lenovo laptop with Windows 11 in early 2024 . In April I bought MS Office 2021 Pro Plus (Product Key: M9PBR-NQFQY-BJXQP-TBQYJ-WB8M9) which has run perfectly, including on 28 July 2025, but when I opened it the next day it was locked offline and would not toggle to online. On the Send / Receive ribbon, both Download Cancel All and Preferences Offline icons have a red cross (see attached screen shot), as does the Outlook icon on the Windows task bar. I tried Quick Repair, which didn't work and then Online Repair. The problem remained, but my whole Office Suite has now been 'downgraded' to MS Office Home and Business 2016. Two problems and I haven't a clue how to proceed.IT80Aug 01, 2025Copper Contributor53Views0likes2CommentsOutlook Storage Full Despite Deleting Everything
