Re: Sync button on channel not working anymore
StephanGee Mark-Kashman We have the exact same issue. Users are really frustrated with the Teams client. The amount of times they are told to sign out and back in for various reasons in crazy. There needs to be a better answer. This may be a known bug, but it's still not fixed it's only changed its behavior. Instead of nothing happen this dialogue pops up and then nothing happens.2.1KViews0likes1CommentSharePoint Home Search and Teams
Does anyone know why I would not see the SharePoint sites that are associated with a Team show up in the search from the SharePoint home page? Example. Created a Team called 00000003 LHTest that includes a private channel called Mortenson Only. When I search for 00000003 (which is a project number in our org) I get result hit for the 00000003 LHTest-MortensonOnly SharePoint site, but I do not get a hit for the 00000003 LHTest SharePoint site that is associated with the original Team. I would expect to be able to find both sites? Any ideas? Thanks599Views0likes0CommentsHub Site Footer Propagation
I've created a hub site with navigation and footer links. All I want to to do is have the joining sites inherit the navigation and footer. Seems to make sense right? Isn't this the purpose of hub sites? What I've found is that while the navigation propagates to joined sites the footer only propagated to the first site that was joined to the hub. None of the other 6 sites I've joined to the hub got the footer. I've contacted support. They sent me to a user voice page. This can't possibly be how this is designed to work is it? I would think the fact that it only propagates to the first joined site means this must be a bug. Why would it possibly behave this way?6.2KViews2likes2CommentsRe: SharePoint Online vs. Microsoft Teams; Planner vs. Project; Sway vs. PowerPoint
I find these discussions with end users easier if I try to avoid groups altogether. The biggest mistake Microsoft made is call "groups" a product. Groups should have just been the new way you secure a SharePoint site or other Office 365 products. Calling out Groups as it's own thing is what has created so much confusion in my opinion. Unfortunately end users still get exposed to Group terminology and therefore confusion reigns.8.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Quality of Office 365 support is sinking..
Always with the fiddler traces. There needs to be a better way to get that information. We have to disable firewall rules in order to capture that traffic, which of course is frowned upon and requires a formal change request. I have never once had first level engineer identify anything from a fiddler trace that actually identified a problem. I think its a "buying time" ploy in most cases.3.3KViews1like5CommentsRe: Quality of Office 365 support is sinking..
100% agree. Support has been terrible for the last 6 months or more. The new online ticketing system is awful too. The only way I get a resource that is helpful is if I open a sev A ticket. Anything lower has been a waste of time. Not sure what's going on, but SharePoint online resources used to be really, really good. Now they just ask the same questions over and over and rarely find a resolution. Very disappointing and frustrating.3.3KViews1like0CommentsRe: Modern Page Search Results
Hey Joe - How about just using the library settings and setting all the libraries you don't want to show to not be included in the search index. I'm doing this in one of our modern sites now and it's only returning pages when I search on that particular site.4.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: What's the most user friendly way to display 130 images on a modern page?
I think we got it to work by selecting all the pictures we wanted to display rather selecting a document library and then having it only show the first 30 files. You seemingly could select as many as you wanted to display. I'd be curious to hear your solution though for future reference.6.6KViews0likes2CommentsWhat's the most user friendly way to display 130 images on a modern page?
You would think this would be quite easy, however I've tried several options now and nothing is really working that well. All I want to do is display 130 photos in a way the is relatively user friendly so that a user can both see all the images at once and once they click on one image can quickly scroll through all the images. Here's what I've attempted thus far. 1. Use the image gallery web part (seems logical). Nope you can only display up to 30 images. 2. Tried to send user directly to the document library with the tile view defaulted. It seems to ignore this and reverts any user back to list view. 3. Highlighted content web part. Brings back all the images, but users have to open each separately. They can't click from image to image. 4. Break the 130 photos up in 30 photo batches in 5 separate doc libraries and use the image gallery web part. This works, but still stinks since the user would have to know to start over every 30 images in order to scroll between them. I feel like there is something I'm missing in number 2. This should be so easy. Is there a URL or something I can use to hold the tile view?7KViews0likes8CommentsRe: How will I know when Hub Sites are available?
I'm able to create a hub site, but when I go to the hub site settings to associate a site with the hub that capability isn't there. There is no way to select a site to associate. Is anyone else seeing that? Is there something else I need to enable?1.6KViews0likes2CommentsRe: External Access - Microsoft Account Creation
My testing found the following: Scenario A: External user was in my directory. They received 1 email with a link to the file. Would need to use Microsoft account to access. Scenario B: External user was not in my directory. They received 2 emails. The email itself and a second email with just a link to sign in or create an account. Again using a Microsoft account. I'm sure this is blatantly obvious, but this makes it really difficult to support users when they see different behavior based on how they are executing what they see as the same action "sharing". In these scenarios I as an end user I would expect to see the authentication by code emails generated and not require a Microsoft Account.15KViews0likes1CommentRe: External Access - Microsoft Account Creation
So it I put an internal user in the "To:" field of an Outlook message OneDrive/SharePoint automatically gives those users access to the cloud attachment that I'm sending. What I'm wondering is if I put an external user in the "To:" field and send a cloud attachment do they automatically get rights to the cloud attachment as well and then what is the experience like on their end. Do they access via a code or do they have to create an MSA?17KViews0likes6CommentsRe: External Access - Microsoft Account Creation
What happens when you invite an external user in Outlook and attach a cloud attachment? Does the external user get access the same way an internal user would? Are they able to log in using the code method? I will test as well, but don't have the setup to do so at the moment.17KViews0likes8Comments
