Today, our team was invited by the Greater Manchester Blood Bikes for a special screening of the documentary “The Life Riders” we created about their incredible voluntary service. It was truly heartwarming to see their whole team come together, watch the film, and show so much appreciation for our efforts. We were honoured with certificates and thoughtful gifts — a gesture we’ll never forget. A special thank you to Russ Harrison the chairperson of the charity, and Dave Parsons for trusting us with this opportunity and welcoming us into their world. Struggling for plans in the sun on Sunday in and around Manchester? Come and cheer on Barry (Sheen) the Quackiest(Kawk-iest) Blood Biker around in Race 3 at the Bramhall Park Duck Race event. Event opens it's doors at 11.00am for a family fun day from stalls, music, and bouncy castles. A great family day out, for the kids and big kids alike! We at Greater Manchester Blood Bikes are setting up a stall so come down and say hello, maybe get an insight into what we do and buy some of our merch! We'd love to see you in the crowds! Yesterday as Duty Controller for Greater Manchester Blood Bikes I over saw our volunteers as they went about their duties. Craig on his second day volunteering for us went to Leeds and Bradford in our Duster - Mark Mason donated by The Mark Benevolent Fund Mark Masons' Hall to collect donor breast milk on behalf of The Milk Bank at Chester covering 227 miles. Pete on Bike 7 Anto Achilles donated by Severfield collected an urgent sample from Tameside General Pathology and took it to St James’s Hospital in Leeds clocking up 129 miles. Tim on Bike 10 - Bodhi donated by DF Capital started his shift early to cover our daily job for North West Air Ambulance Charity and continued into the evening with a total of 168 miles covered. Two more car were out, Reggie donated by Smurfit Westrock and Our Jane donated by Ian O'Neill and Roc Fire with daily pre booked runs and a early morning request at 1am from Stepping Hill Hospital. As a charity we covered 685 miles combined across the fleet within Greater Manchester and also Yorkshire and Cheshire. We receive no formal funding, we exist only because of the generosity of the public and our amazing volunteers.
