We're transforming complex carbon data into striking structures – challenging the idea that data must live in spreadsheets! This touring installation, which gives carbon a physical form, arrived at Paddington Central this week. It tells the story of how more efficient, high-performing buildings produce less carbon, and how those changes are helping our customers save energy and cut operational costs. In partnership with Real World Visuals, we've transformed our real data into structures that chart our progress from our 2019 baseline to our 2030 goals – showing what we can achieve together with our customers. Many initiatives have contributed to achieving our 2025 milestone of a 40% reduction in our office portfolio’s carbon intensity, from lighting upgrades to heat pumps and intelligent building systems. This installation offers a fresh perspective on sustainability – watch the video at the link to learn more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/d_SU52aj #BritishLand #OperationalCarbon #SustainableWorkspaces #CarbonReduction #Journeyto2030 #GreenerSpaces

Welcome to Canada Water, Vagabond Wines! Following their expansion into Broadgate Central, Vagabond will bring the UK's largest urban winery and bar to our 180,000 sq ft British Land Workspace, Dock Shed. Set to open later this year, this new 6,000 sq ft flagship will have the capacity to produce up to 100,000 bottles of wine a year and welcome over 300 guests daily. The striking, high-design space will expand Vagabond's English wine output and add to the growing mix of restaurants at Canada Water, with Village Tree and Sushi Revolution announced earlier this year. This latest letting reflects the strong leasing momentum across our portfolio, with both new brands choosing our campuses and long-term customers expanding their footprint across multiple assets, a clear sign of confidence in our evolving mix of F&B, retail and workspace. The government’s Life Sciences Sector Plan, announced this week, closely aligns with the priorities we set out in our 2023 report, 'Accelerating Innovation: A five point plan to boost life sciences real estate'. We welcome the adoption of ambitious 2035 growth targets, as well as commitments to infrastructure delivery, planning and skills reforms. Ensuring that the sector’s unique strengths and requirements remain at the forefront is critical to achieving the government’s growth ambitions. Progress will be measured by how swiftly these priorities translate into tangible outcomes: increased lab and R&D space, streamlined planning, and investment that supports sector-wide growth. While new funding initiatives will support the sector, sustained focus is required to ensure that the established life sciences ecosystem in London, Oxford and Cambridge continues to thrive and supports the growth of the sector nationwide. According to our 2023 report - If the UK’s life sciences real estate markets matched their US counterparts by 2035, it would mean: - 67,000 more high-skilled, high-wage jobs - £4bn a year in additional economic output - £1.1bn a year extra in tax revenue for public services Bold action across real estate, infrastructure, planning, investment, and skills is essential to unlock the sector’s full potential.
