How Does AI use Data? In this video, Members of Children's Parliament (aged 10-12) from Dundee explain how artificial intelligence (AI) uses data, and how it can produce biased outcomes if the data isn't good enough. https://lnkd.in/eZ8gskPU The video is part of our new AI and Children's Rights teaching pack - a resource for teachers and educators to use with P5-P7 children. We made the teaching pack in response to Members of Children's Parliament's calls to action - they felt it was important that AI was in the curriculum for children, and teachers had support to teach them about it. What is AI? In this video, Members of Children's Parliament (aged 10–12) from Edinburgh explain what artificial intelligence (AI) is—and what it can do. The video is part of our new AI teaching pack for P5–P7, designed to help primary school teachers and children explore AI with confidence. The pack includes six ready-to-use lesson plans, real-life examples, and engaging animated videos that explore children's human rights and AI. 📣 This week we published our latest membership spotlight by Children's Parliament Through the Exploring Children’s Rights and Artificial Intelligence (AI) project, run in partnership with Scottish AI Alliance and The Alan Turing Institute, they have been finding out what children think about AI and its impacts on their lives and rights Working directly with more than 140 children from 6 schools across Scotland, they have supported this cohort to learn about their rights and to consider all the different areas of their lives where they may be interacting with AI both directly and indirectly (for example, where it is used in education, healthcare and social care) Through creative workshops they have explored the children’s feelings about these uses and helped them to develop their own calls to action – 12 things that they feel adults need to change in order for AI to support children’s rights in Scotland The whole process has been documented through reports and films, and they have recently launched two extensive learning resources – one for adults who work with AI on children’s human rights and why they’re relevant to the field, and the other a full teaching and learning pack for educators to use with primary-aged children #ChildrenShapingAI #Childrensrights #UNCRC #UNCRCScotland Read membership spotlight here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e-auV4_a
