  • What a night!✨ We threw open the doors at our Cambridge office for our annual summer event — and it didn’t disappoint. Guests joined us for a relaxed evening of great conversations, a few laughs, and strong representation from across our divisions. Ian Rowe MCIOB and Ian Westmorland BSc (Hons) MRICS shared insights on the future of data centres. Chris Banham brought heritage to life — from education and listed buildings to landed estates.🚧 Tom Walker covered all things Design, including Curo's alignment with BSA requirements and our ongoing work with Higher Risk Buildings. And rounding things off, Steve Conlin, Rob Gordon and Patrick Mays represented the board brilliantly.💫 We’re already looking forward to the next one. Thanks to everyone who came and made it such a good evening.💓 Q. What have you seen in Cambridge’s construction scene lately? #CuroConstruction #Cambridge #B2BEvent

  • Let’s hit rewind… back to the heart of Westminster and the iconic Montague Street, where we had the privilege of working on 1 & 1A Montague Street for The British Museum ⏪ This Grade II listed beauty had seen better days (WWII bomb scars included), but we were ready to roll up our sleeves. From intricate brickwork repairs and lime plastering to roof works and a DOFF clean that made the façade sing again, we gave this historic gem some serious loving.💗 Inside? We carefully balanced old and new – restoring period details with precision, integrating a new MEP system, and transforming it into 22,600 sq ft of stylish commercial space that’s perfect for modern working… while keeping all the character of its past.👷♂️ Today, this conservation-listed treasure has a whole new lease of life – not as a museum exhibit, but as a vibrant, functional space in the heart of London. Oh, and fun fact: The British Museum is older than the USA* *Source: https://hubs.li/Q03xdgjY0 #CuroConstuction #ThrowbackTuesday #ProjectSpotlight

  • We’re thrilled to introduce our newest project, Lancashire Court! A 50,000 sq ft landmark cut and carve redevelopment on New Bond Street for our client Royal London Asset Management 🎉 Located within the prestigious Lancashire Court Estate, in Mayfair, this project will see the transformation of an existing retail building into: • Shell & core office accommodation on the upper floors • 3 new retail units • Shopfront upgrades • Window replacements All while being mindful of the residents living on levels 4 and 5 throughout the works — something our team is highly experienced in managing with care and consideration.🧠 The building will retain much of its existing steel frame with modern functionality. We’re looking forward to bringing this ambitious vision to life. Stay tuned for progress updates!🏗️ #CutAndCarve #Redevelopment #CommercialProperty #Retail #OfficeSpace

  • What happens when you take lean back to where it all began? Our CLIPS Director Paul Ebbs found out on his recent trip to Japan!🇯🇵 In a one-day workshop, participants explored IRMA 360 (Integrated Risk Management Approach) and learned how to use the Flow Walk to spot and tackle risks. With insights from Marcus Fireman & Bernardo Etges (Climb Group, Brazil), and support from Prof. Zofia Rybkowski (Texas A&M, USA), the session brought together brilliant minds from Germany, Indonesia, Brazil, Canada, the US, the Netherlands, and Norway.🗺️ Paul’s key takeaways from taking lean abroad? -Design thinking starts and ends with understanding customer needs. -Curo is on the right track using ISO 18404 to embed lean and quality as a standard way of thinking and working. -“Lean” is just one word trying to summarise 800 years of Japanese culture. -Everywhere is spotless—because the Japanese clean up and take their rubbish home as a matter of pride and respect (bins are rare!).🗑️ What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned while working internationally?🧠 #CuroConstruction #LeanInJapan #Lean

  • Green means go! We’re hitting pause to rewind and admire Shinfield Studios Phase 2b – and, more specifically, its star parking spot: the multi-storey car park.🚦 This isn’t just any car park. With 6 levels, 601 spaces (including 54 EV charging bays to keep it future proof), it’s built to handle the action.🚗 We went for a concrete frame and steel deck – and delivered exactly that. Plus, a custom-designed ramp feeds straight from the access road into level 3, helping to ease the daily traffic flow. Two passenger lifts serve all levels from the main staircase, while a secondary staircase stands ready for emergencies.🚨 Huge shoutout to Huber Parking UK – your collaboration really took this part of the project to a whole new level.

  • We're raising the roof at Channing School, Brunner House! 🚧 At Brunner House, we’re removing the old school roof to make way for a new glulam timber frame. By combining a concrete base for strength with a timber frame above, we’re keeping the design consistent with the rest of the development while reducing the building’s mass. Using mobile cranes, we’ll manoeuvre each timber section into place with millimetric accuracy. Working in live school environments, even in one so familiar to us, the team are employing lean planning techniques to work efficiently and keep everything moving on tight timelines. ⏳ When it’s done, pupils and staff will work and learn under exposed timber soffits and beams — natural materials that make these spaces feel warmer and more welcoming. More soon as the timber goes up. #CuroConstruction #TimberFrames #ChanningSchool

  • We’re proud to celebrate a fantastic achievement by our Head of Sustainability, Kirsty McCormick who has been awarded her Level 1 Associate Practitioner accreditation by the Institute for Social Value!🎉 This recognition is a testament to Kirsty’s growing expertise in social value and impact management. Sustainability is the balance between economic, environmental and social elements of society. The environment and peoples wellbeing are inextricably linked.💚 Kirsty’s new qualification enhances the social dimension of her sustainability role—perfectly complementing the environmental aspects—and will strengthen our ability to assess and maximise social value across all our projects. "Throughout this process, Curo has truly believed in my capabilities and offered incredible support. I’m grateful for the flexibility to pursue this learning alongside my role in such a dynamic and rewarding environment." – Kirsty McCormick Huge congratulations, Kirsty! We’re excited to see how this milestone will help us continue delivering meaningful outcomes for our clients, communities, employees, and Curo shareholders.🤗 #CuroConstruction #EmployeeAchievement #InstituteForSocialValue

  • Crisis UK — Turning a good space into a great one — and doing it fast.🏃♂️ We’re throwing it back to our fit-out for Crisis UK, the charity working to end homelessness. Trusted to get in early, we reconfigured their new London Spitalfields, base for over 80 staff, delivering smart spaces that work hard every day.🧠 This project moved quickly, with a high-value engineering approach and tight pre-planning. The new reception doubles as extra desk space, there are four new meeting pods, basement lockers and bike storage, and fresh activity spaces, a vision care office, and a library upstairs — all designed to support collaboration and community.🤝 A brilliant charity, a brilliant team effort — and another example of what happens when you get in early, think smart, and deliver with purpose.👥 |Ridge and Partners LLP #CuroConstruction #ProjectSpotlight #CrisisUK
