Visit the report to find out more about projects and programmes including: 👩🏽💻Our Innovate UK-funded Mindset-XR Innovator Support programme, which has helped immersive technology innovators set up 30 pilots of their innovations and receive more than £430,000 in follow-on funding to improve the mental health of the nation ⏩ Helping to launch the London Anti-Racism Collaboration for Health (LARCH) with the Race Equality Foundation, driving more than 70 expressions of interest from health and care organisations in using a groundbreaking new tool to tackle racial health inequalities 📊 Conducting the first in-depth review of Electronic Patient Record (EPR) maturity at a London level, helping NHS England (London region) guide future government investment into EPR infrastructure 🙌 Working with a more diverse range of innovators and founders than ever through our DigitalHealth.London programmes. Since April 2023, our DigitalHealth.London Business Support for London programme has worked with 160 companies, helping 32 new products launch to market, creating 52 jobs and having the flagship Accelerator ranked by the Financial Times as one of Europe’s Leading Start-Up Hubs 🫀 Delivering a wide range of cardiovascular disease prevention programmes, including trialling a community lipids hub in south east London that is predicted to save the NHS £80,000 over the next five years, and supporting the implementation of specialist pharmacists at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, reducing waiting lists by eight months 🏢 Continuing to build a positive organisational culture; 91% of our staff would recommend the HIN as a place to work Find the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eYD86Ymp

How can we ensure that health innovations deliver real impact in the world? 💡📈   In a recent blog for the Health Innovation Network—Andrew Walker, Head of Evaluation and Implementation Science at the Health Innovation Network South London (HIN)—co-writes with Philippa Darnton, from Health Innovation Wessex, about the role of real-world evaluation in bridging the gap between innovation and system-wide improvement. We’re delighted that our initiative to raise the profile of health and care research careers, delivered in partnership with the NIHR Research Delivery Network, has been shortlisted as multi-channel campaign of the year by commsHERO.   The campaign targeted early career clinicians across London, helping to showcase the importance of hands-on patient care in research roles and the unique opportunities for career progression afforded by the research environment. This week, we're celebrating the second cohort of the SWL Digital Pioneers Fellowship, delivered in partnership with South West London Integrated Care System 🎉 In our first case study of the week, Transformation Managers Lucy Williams and Sarah Fischer share insights from the design and implementation phase of the Universal Care Plan, which enables people in London to share “what matters to me” with their health and care professionals. This internationally recognised tool is now used in over 200 care homes, with further expansion across clinical pathways including Integrated Neighbourhood Teams and Memory Service Clinics. We're marking the end of another fantastic year of the CW+ charity Innovation Fellowship (formerly the Horizon Fellowship)! Yesterday, we celebrated 20 exceptional Fellows, who have been developing innovative digital projects to tackle real-world challenges at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. How can we design a digital solution that helps women get the support they need for heavy menstrual bleeding? That was the focus of our recent Women’s and Girls’ Health Hackathon, which brought together over 70 public health professionals, clinicians, academics and tech experts.   From multilingual chatbots to AI-integrated WhatsApp communities, teams developed innovative ideas to improve access to trusted health information.

In this edition of The Brief, we examine how networking plays a vital role in navigating the evolving and complex NHS landscape. As the 10-year plan unfolds, meaningful connections and collaboration with like-minded peers will become crucial for overcoming the unique challenges of healthcare innovation.   We also take a fresh approach by speaking with five HIN staff: Rishi Das-Gupta, Sara Nelson, Karla Richards, Ayobola Chike-Michael BA, MA and Jillian Owens, who share advice on how you can network effectively.   Read more and watch the full video.
