Last week, the Kingerlee team came together to celebrate a remarkable milestone with our Chairman, David Kingerlee, who marked 45 years of dedicated service.    David began his journey with the company on 21st July 1980 as a labourer, also lending a hand in the garage and blacksmiths’ departments. Over the years, he progressed through a variety of roles, from surveyor to estimator, and later Head of IT.     Since 2016, David has served as Chairman, leading Kingerlee with kindness and integrity. His contributions have played a vital role in shaping the company we know today, and he remains a cornerstone of our leadership team. As a member of the Kingerlee family, whose name and values are at the heart of the business, David has played a key role in continuing the company’s legacy through every stage of his career.    Congratulations, David, on this outstanding achievement! 

This October, nine members of the Kingerlee team will be running the Oxford Half Marathon to raise funds for Sobell House Hospice Charity! 🏃♀️🏃♂️    Sobell House is a charity close to the hearts of many across Oxfordshire and beyond. We are proud to announce that an exciting new project has been awarded to us in collaboration with Kellogg College, University of Oxford and Hertford College, University of Oxford in North Oxford. This joint venture between the two colleges will deliver 6 new student accommodation units. The project provides a rare opportunity to enhance the provision of the existing site with a scheme that is heavily inspired and enriched by the neighbouring North Oxford Victorian Suburb Conservation Area. The proposed development provides the Colleges with a valuable chance to unify a varied set of buildings and functions through the implementation of a landscape-led design. The buildings have been carefully arranged across the site to be sympathetic to the scale and characteristics of the existing context of tall brick villas and mature trees. We are looking forward to developing the design and working with University of Oxford Estates Services, ADP Architecture, etch Associates, AKSWard Limited, Nicholsons, CPC Project Services, Gleeds, Bureau Veritas and Plan Design to deliver this special project.

Recently, members of the Kingerlee team had the pleasure of hosting a table at the HQR London Ball. It was a spectacular evening filled with great conversation, charity fundraising, and plenty of dancing!    Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a memorable night, and to the organisers for putting together a fantastic event. We are delighted to share a new selection of completion photos from one of our recently finished private residential projects.     This development included the full construction of a luxurious three-storey family home, thoughtfully designed to balance elegance with modern functionality. We are pleased to share the latest progress from The Firs, a state-of-the-art car showroom being delivered for Tom Hartley Jnr Ltd Since our previous update, the scaffolding to the south gable of Showroom A has been struck, unveiling the stunning ashlar ironstone cladding installed by Stirling Stone. Internally, we’re advancing through the void closure process in the flat ceiling zone. This critical step will allow us to continue with dry-lining and plastering works. The first-floor areas have already undergone this process, and the raised access floor is now being installed. Our site team is eagerly anticipating the next phase, as dry-liners move through the remaining zones, bringing the ceilings to life in the coming weeks. In showroom A, the high-level ductwork, ceiling finishes, and first coats of wall paint are complete. A1 Tiling is now on-site, carefully laying floor tiles, aligning joints, movement gaps, and floor boxes to the exact design specifications. We're thrilled to share a few photos showcasing the newly completed works at our home in Kidlington! Over the past few months, the Special Projects team has been hard at work delivering the second phase of the Thomas House renovations. This phase focused on the first floor of our office building and included the transformation of five office spaces, four meeting rooms, a kitchen area, and WC facilities. As part of our ESG commitment, a new rainwater harvesting system has been installed which will be used to flush the toilets in Thomas House. This initiative supports our goal of reducing water consumption by 10% by the end of the year.
