Important update on Business Property Relief (BPR) reform:   The Government has published the eagerly awaited draft legislation on its reform of #BPR this week – largely in line with October’s announcement and without major surprises.   Key takeaways: • The new rules will come into force as planned on 6 April 2026. • The £1 million 100% relief allowance remains non-transferable between spouses. • The allowance will be index-linked to the Consumer Price Index – but only from 6 April 2030. • The technical consultation runs for 8 weeks, ending on 15 September.   If you’re a business owner or advising clients on succession planning, now is the time to review and update strategies to take advantage of the current unlimited 100% relief before April 2026.
