Very much not like me but at Friday’s St Helens VCFSE CEO lunch I failed to take any pictures except of the food! 😂 We held this get together at the Totally Wicked Stadium and enjoyed their great Street Food. We were joined by more than 25 local leaders from the sector and got chance to update each other on work, challenges and opportunities. Our next St Helens lunch is on 10 October at Colours Restaurant and the next Halton date is 12 September at Scholars. Details will be on our website soon for both and available to members. We're rounding off the week with this lovely picture of a volunteering superstar! 🌟 Lindsey, who lives at Halton Road in Runcorn, was recently nominated for a Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action Volunteer Award, in recognition of her dedication and kindness in volunteering at a local nursery for an incredible 14 years. Lindsey takes great pride in her work, spending three days a week working with young children, and is a valued member of the nursery team. After receiving her certificate, she said "I am happy, and I can't believe it really!". Congratulations Lindsey, we think you're a true inspiration to anyone who wants to volunteer! 👏🤩

Lovely to spend time with one of the St Helens CMCA projects Laugh for Life Comedy. Using comedy workshops for mental health wellbeing and having all important cancer chats! Participants will have the opportunity to perform a short piece of stand up at a comedy club as part of the project. I can already tell it’s going to be fab from the snippets I bought today between our conversations! Community power in action improving health and wellbeing through collaboration! Well we did it! Thanks to everyone who donated we raised over £2,600 for Sam's Diamonds Cancer Support 💎 I can highly recommend the Swiftie Run, loved being in a Manchester park on a Saturday morning singing Taylor Swift songs with my friends! 🙌🏻🪩🏃🏼♀️ then of course running a 5K. We even had our own cheer team! Thanks for supporting us and Sam’s Diamonds 🩷 Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action

It’s a week or so back but how good was Refugee Week in St Helens! 🙏🏻❤️ so much important work from film festivals, food and football! Well done to everyone who supported raising awareness of the reality for people, brought communities together and were just generally brilliant! I didn’t make the films but I played a bit of football (badly) and ate lots of the food, thanks Cafe Laziz! 😋 Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action
