🌟 We’re thrilled to see such positive feedback in the recent Youth Endowment Fund evaluation of the first year of the Summer Jobs Programme — from both the young people taking part and those supporting them. This programme is designed to boost young people’s wellbeing, mental health, and self-confidence, while equipping them with vital employability skills. Each participant is supported by a dedicated youth worker throughout their placement. The evaluation comes at a timely moment — just as another 400 young people begin their placements as part of this year’s programme. We’re proud to be demonstrating that initiatives like this can be delivered at scale, and excited about working with Youth Endowment Fund, Youth Futures Foundation and IFF Research to grow the scheme over the next 18 months to better understand the benefit of these opportunities for young people! https://lnkd.in/eHCP-4tS

👏 What an incredible day at the Insure Your Future Career Expo with RSA, Spark Youth, and Youth Fed! From real insight into the insurance sector to powerful peer stories and career networking, this event showed exactly what happens when young people are given access to meaningful opportunities and supportive role models. At UK Youth, we’re proud to be part of partnerships like this that open doors, build skills, and unlock potential. 🙌 #InsureYourFuture #UKYouth #YouthOpportunities #FutureTalent #CareersThatInspire #YouthLed
INSURE YOUR FUTURE – CAREER EXPO In partnership with RSA, UK Youth and Youth Fed #Spark hosted a brilliant day of learning, connection and opportunity at our 'Insure Your Future' Career Expo. Over 20 young people joined us at the Hub to explore the world of insurance and discover new career pathways. The day began with a dynamic icebreaker, Risky Business, a custom-built game blending trivia and strategy to introduce the fundamentals of risk and the value of insurance. From there, the RSA team led an engaging session using their Discover Risk toolkit, helping young people assess real-world risk scenarios. A standout moment was hearing from Wiktoria Haleks, a former Spark member who attended this same expo last year and is now employed by RSA. She was joined by Thusan Nithiyarajan from RSA’s digital team, both sharing powerful insights into their career journeys and day-to-day work. Following lunch, generously provided by RSA, young people took part in a fast-paced 'career speed networking' session. They had the chance to speak directly with professionals from across RSA’s departments, learning about the wide variety of roles available in the sector. These conversations helped inform a Q&A panel later in the afternoon, where RSA professionals answered thoughtful questions submitted by the members. The day concluded with an introduction to RSA’s Career Sneak Peek placements: one-week work experience opportunities and a reminder about the UK Youth Scholarship, which offers up to £750 to support young people overcome barriers to employment. The event was closed by Spark CEO Kevin Rodgers, who shared his reflections on the day and thanked everyone who made it possible. A huge thank you to RSA, UK Youth, and YouthFed for making this partnership such a success. Together, we are creating real-world opportunities that inspire confidence and unlock potential. #SparkChange #InsureYourFuture #CareersExpo #YouthLed #RSAInsurance #UKYouth #YouthFed #FutureTalent #OpportunityUnlocked Ken Norgrove James Gregory Tracey Fisher MBE Anastasia Risnes Toni Jones Nicola Mellish Felicity Morton Chris Hindley OBE Kevin Bradburne MBE Michelle Maddox Duncan Harrison Jools Ruddy Nicole Atilio Charlotte C. Last week we welcomed RSA [Intact] leadership team to Avon Tyrrell for two days of volunteering and team building. 🛶 They quickly got their hands dirty helping us build a new bike skills area and improve our challenge course. Their amazing work will help create more inclusive and engaging outdoor spaces for the young people who visit us Avon Tyrrell. They stayed an extra day to put their teamwork to the test with challenges including archery, catapult building, climbing, canoeing and more. They ended the day with a ride down our zip wire. 🗳️ UK Youth welcomes Votes at 16 announcement We’re thrilled to see the Government commit to legislating for 16- and 17-year-olds to vote in all UK elections in their announcement this week. UK Youth has long-championed Votes at 16, and recently worked with our partners The Politics Project and My Life My Say to support the development of their campaigns and recommendations. Young people have the right to be heard on the decisions shaping their lives. As our Acting Director of Impact Oscar Bingham said, "It’s exciting to think that 16- and 17-year-olds across the UK could have their say at the next General Election." This is a big step forward — now we must make sure it's delivered with young people, not just for them. 📢 Young Futures Hubs: A Welcome Step, With Critical Next Steps UK Youth welcomes the Government’s launch of Young Futures Hubs as an important opportunity to support young people across the UK. But the real impact will depend on delivery. As Vicky Browning, Interim CEO of UK Youth, says: “Young Futures Hubs can make a huge difference in the lives of young people across the country. Now Government must ensure that the first eight Hubs will be located in spaces where young people already gather – both offline and online. Youth voice should be front and centre when it comes to designing these services for young people and the Hubs need to be spaces where young people feel comfortable and understood.” 📖 Read our full response: https://lnkd.in/d6yf2wWB #YoungFuturesHubs #YouthWork #YouthVoice #UKYouth #YouthSupport #YouthPolicy

On World Youth Skills Day, say hello to Grace Wood! 👋 Grace shares her story in 60 seconds. She reflects on her journey landing a Sales Degree Apprentice role right out of school, and how she’s giving back beyond her role by volunteering through our Building Connections programme with UK Youth. Grace volunteers at Wigan Youth Zone, the same youth club she attended as a teenager. Now she’s supporting young people in her community to build confidence, explore their ambitions and start thinking about their future careers. Her story is a great example of what World Youth Skills Day is all about: creating safe, inspiring spaces for young people to be heard, have fun and think about future careers. Watch her story below 👇
