Create single image ads for Classic campaigns in Campaign Manager

Last updated: 2 weeks ago

Single image ads appear directly in the LinkedIn feed and on the LinkedIn Audience Network. You can create a new single image ad directly in Campaign Manager or you can select an existing post from your LinkedIn Page to sponsor.

Step 1: Make sure you have the correct permissions

You must have super admin, content admin, or Sponsored Content poster access on your ad account's Page and creative manager access or higher on your ad account to create a single image ad.

Step 2: Create a campaign

Any ads you create, either from a Page post or in Campaign Manager, must be part of a campaign. Create a new Classic campaign and select brand awareness, website visits, engagement, website conversions, lead generation, or job applicants as the objective. You can also create new ads for an existing single image ad campaign by editing your campaign. Once you have created a campaign, you can create ads.

Step 3: Create a new single image ad

To create a new single image ad:

  1. On the Ads in this campaign page in Campaign Manager, click Create new ad(s).

    Ads review page
  2. Enter a name for your ad.

    • Keep in mind, the ad name will only appear in Campaign Manager.
  3. Add Introductory text

  4. In the Destination section, you'll see different options to select depending on your campaign objective. Website visits and Lead generation objectives have multiple options.

    • Destination URL - Enter your URL. URLs must have the http:// or https:// prefix and you can use up to 2,000 characters. After you add the URL, click the Scrape button.
    • Conversation asset - Select an existing conversation or create a new one. You can only select a conversation that doesn’t have a Lead Gen Form associated.
    • Lead gen form - Select an existing form or create a new one.
    • Conversation asset with lead gen form - Select an existing conversation or create a new one. You can only select a conversation that has a Lead Gen Form associated.
      • Keep in mind, conversation assets are only available for click-to-message ads using either the website visits or lead generation objectives with single image ads.
  5. In the Article share section, confirm or change the ad image, headline, description, and call-to-action button scraped from the URL.

    • Ad image - Click the Cancel icon next to the image name to change the image, then click the Upload or select button to browse the media library for an existing image or upload a new image.
    • Headline - Click draft with AI to generate up to five headline suggestions. The headline appears below the image of the ad.
    • Description - Add a description to give more information about your ad. Keep in mind, the description typically only appears for a small portion of LinkedIn members, such as those viewing it on the LinkedIn Audience Network (if enabled).
    • Call-to-action - Click the dropdown menu to select which call-to-action button appears with your ad.
  6. Click the Save ad button in the lower-right corner.

    • Confirm the Add to campaign checkbox is selected to add your new ad to the current campaign.

When you’re ready, you can launch your new campaign or save changes to an existing campaign. Your ads will be reviewed and, if approved, are displayed based on your campaign settings.
