- [Speaker] Let's take a quick tour of Microsoft Access. Access is a relational database app that's included with many Microsoft 365 subscriptions. A relational database is essentially a method of linking data from different places, usually done via a common identifier that exists in both. Make sure that you have the Access Desktop application open. It should look something like this. And on the home screen, we have a few options to work with. We can go ahead and select one of the database templates. These will usually come with predefined data tables, forms, and reports. However, to get the most from this course, we're going to create a blank database. Just go ahead and click on blank database here. And how about we choose the desktop to save our database, and we need to give it a file name. I'm just going to call mine my first DB and click on OK. And then create.
