- [Instructor] Here is a common usage of a focus stack. Shooting through this stone wall, I have the background in focus, and I have the wall in focus. I can't get both in focus in a single shot. But if I combine the two, then I can have that. This is going to bring up a common problem that we might run into with focus stacking. I'll select my two source frames. From the Tools menu, Photoshop, Load Files into Photoshop Layers. I'll select both layers, come to the Edit menu, and choose Auto-Align. Because this was shot without a tripod, there is quite a lot of movement from one frame to the next, so a crop will be required at the end. I'm now going to change the order of the layers just because for me it makes more sense if we have the wall layer at the top, and we are seeing through that hole to the background layer.
