Visualize data with data bars
- [Instructor] Data bars offer a variety of ways to visualize numeric data. To appreciate the value of data bars, let's say we want to visualize the relative cost of each step in a business process. In the diagram on the screen, the cost is displayed with one of the text data graphics that's available in Vizio 2016 and later. The dollar sign certainly suggests that we're dealing with money, but we need to read every value on the page to get a sense for the relative cost of each step. Let's replace the text graphic with something more useful. But first, let's look at the range of data values for the field we want to visualize. This is the Excel data that was imported into the process diagram. The column we care about is this one called cost. You'll notice values that range from 10 to 50 that express the relative cost of each step within the process. Back in Vizio, let's go to the Data tab and choose Advanced Data Graphics.
