The future: Generative AI and math in project management

- For me, what is coming next is generative AI in math, engineering and calculus. And let me explain why this is so disruptive. Because generative AI for text and images, they allow you to have such a wide variation of answers that are still right. For example, if I go to DALL-E or Midjourney and say, "Draw a house in front of a lake," do you agree with me actually that there are millions and millions of ways of drawing that? I can draw a big, a tiny, a square, a big lake, a small lake, a red lake, whatever, right? So the answer is not sharp. It's like text. I can say something in 200 different ways, but math is different. The day someone can use generative AI, where you will send a mathematical problem and it will give the answer, imagine a GPT like, that you will put a mathematical problem and say, "Please, what is the value of x?" "I have a swimming pool that is being filled with water "at this rate and I have 10 people jumping on the pool. "Each of them weighed this "and some of them are, you know, five feet tall, "some of them are four. "How much time do I need to fill the pool?" If you go today, even with Code Interpreter, it's zero, the chance. ChatGPT is very bad on math. So the day we unlock that, we change the game. And why I'm saying this because this is why people are talking a lot about responsible AI, AGI, about, for example, catastrophic risks. When we talk about the risks, do you know what I always say is that just by knowing that the risk exists, you are already mitigating it. Just by knowing that this may happen, and this is why I'm saying about the math, you are already saying, "Oops, I need to prepare myself." The worst thing is when you know the risk when it becomes a problem. And this is what we are working together here to try to mitigate as much as we can. But now on the project management side, if ChatGPT changed project management, when these math piece comes, oh, oh, then it changes completely because then you don't build any more schedule, then you don't build any more (indistinct). Then you will just put your problem and say, "What do I do next week?" And it will calculate everything for you and say, hire these people, do this, don't work with this. Because it will use all the mathematics that we do ourselves based on our own knowledge, but it will be a computer doing that. This is why this is so disruptive and this is why we are talking about artificial general intelligence. When this comes into place, actually, then we'll have computers that will be functioning as humans and this is something that is for me, a miracle to think about humanity and how we could build something like that. But it's very scary at the same time.
