- [Instructor] Sometimes the out of the box rating that we've been creating needs a little bit of a push to customize it to do what it is that we want it to do. For instance, let's take a look at this use case. This is an example of a 12 inch handrail extension which is mandated by some codes or by ADA, the Americans with Disabilities Act. How can we get Revit to give us this result to make sure that our stair railings are compliant? This can be resolved by applying a separate top rail as we have done in the previous exercise and creating custom extensions to the railing. So stay tuned while we take a look at how. Let's select the railing, look at the properties and go to edit type. And we will need to create a new railing type for this. So I go ahead, I duplicate to create the new railing.
