- [Instructor] An essential part of model setup in Revit is adding levels and grids to the form, the skeleton of the model. Levels and grids are an important aid to locate construction features like stories, major column lines, structural walls, et cetera, and are of special importance to the structural team engaged in the model. So let's start by placing a grid, architecture, grid, click and drag. Now here's a tip. You can create curved grids. You can pick lines to create a grid and you can also create multi-segment grids. These can help locate elements in different shaped buildings, as well as structural elements that don't line up. Now to create levels. The path is the same. However, you will notice that since we are in the plan view, the levels tool is inactive. So let's go into an elevation view.
