- [Instructor] Systems are deployed, managed, and then retired when change dictates that they're no longer needed. C-risks, need to know what to do at each step along the way to maintain the security of their environment. Fortunately, the SDLC can help. So here's a question for you, what does SDLC stand for? If you said software development life cycle, you'd be right. If you said system development life cycle, you'd also be right. Within the broader IT and InfoSec space, the acronym is used both ways. Although ISACA prefers that you use the second version, system development life cycle. The good news is that both acronyms essentially refer to the same thing.
