Splitting columns
- [Instructor] Splitting columns in Power Query is so easy but I'm going to show you a warning. The first thing, we're going to split the musician from the vocals. Splitting by delimiter, by that semicolon is going to be easy. So with the column already highlighted, split by delimiter. We want to split by the semicolon. At each occurrence is fine. Okay. Now, the warning is with that comma between the last name and the first name, because there's a comma space. If we split only by that comma, we're still going to have that space. So we'll have Alvarez, and then in a separate column, space, Danna. We don't want to have to split the column and then go deal with that space. We deal with it all at once, like this. Split column, by delimiter, custom, and then comma, space OK. This is what we wanted and there is no space to clean up.
