- If you need to be right, don't come to the meeting 'cause we will be working on the right things. Use that phrase, it might help you avoid a lot of wasted time. So what does working on the right things look like? I'll use a few examples of meetings where you can apply this concept. First, problem solving meetings. These meetings happen when something isn't working and you need your team's help to fix it. Maybe customer complaints are up, quality is trending down, or an unexpected issue has appeared. When you follow a lean based methodology, it's assumed that everyone brings a piece of the puzzle, and solutions are found together. Being right matters less than working on what's right. During these meetings, your team will agree on a narrow definition of what the problem is. Explore various potential root causes and brainstorm possible solutions together.
