Using tables and cell styles
- [Instructor] Try to imagine formatting an entire book without using paragraph and character styles. It would be crazy, right? Well, in the same way, you shouldn't work on a long document with lots of tables without using table styles and cell styles. So let's check them out. The first thing to keep in mind when learning about InDesign's table and cell styles is the way that one kind of style works inside of another kind of style. Table styles include cell styles, and cell styles include paragraph styles. And paragraph styles can include character styles in the form of nested styles, GREP styles, and so on. So when you're building your table styles, you need to follow a sequence of style building. Start with the character styles you need in your table, then the paragraph styles, then the cell styles, and then, finally, the table styles.
