From the course: Learning Adobe Audition

What you should know before you begin

- [Maxim] This course is for complete beginners with Adobe Audition, so you don't need to bring any background experience to learn, but it would be useful for you to have some basic skills with your operating system, whether that's macOS or Windows. Just things like knowing how to browse menus, how to right click and choose options, maybe select and move things. Those kinds of basic operations are used a lot in Adobe Audition. It would also be helpful perhaps to have a very basic understanding of audio. You don't need to be an engineer, but perhaps it would be helpful if you know that there are multiple channels that are used or that sample rates are a thing, that kind of stuff, because that's what we're going to be working with in Audition. If you want to build up your familiarity with these kinds of core concepts, I'd recommend my own course on the LinkedIn Learning catalog called "Digital Media Foundations." These explore some of these fundamentals with media technology in ways that I hope you will find helpful. In this course, you'll learn how to navigate and interact with the Adobe Audition interface. You'll learn about working with audio files and working with multi-track sessions, so you can produce complete mixes. You'll also learn about editing audio and working with effects, both on individual audio files or in multi-track sessions. And finally, you'll learn about delivering audio files from both categories of content to share your creative work with the world.
