- [Oliver] Let's take a quick look at how to customize your profile inside of Moodle. I'm currently inside of my Moodle account, and from anywhere in it, in order to access my profile, I can go to the dropdown menu, which is up at the top. Here you'll see either your initials or your profile image. From there, I'm going to click the down arrow. And from the dropdown, select Profile. And this, as you can see, brings me to my profile page. Here, there's some information about my login activity, user details, course details, and more. Now, some of this information was already added here by my organization and that will likely be the case for you as well. Now, your profile page will be available to the participants of your course, and it's a great way for them to get to know you. In order to edit your profile, you can go here and click on the Edit profile link. I'm going to go ahead and click that. And from here is where I can edit it. You'll see here things like first name, email address, some of the things, again, were entered in by your organization, but you can go in here and make edits to them, make sure they're correct. There are also some things that you can then customize within here. For instance, down below, we see the section that is titled Description, and this is where I can add in a bio or add some information about me. So, I've already typed this out, and I'm going to go ahead and paste it in here. So once that's pasted in here, I can then use the rich text editor. So I can go ahead and maybe I don't want this to be bold. I can make sure I have everything else correct. Again, I could add links, I can add images inside of here, so you can customize this. Now I like that bio, I'll leave that there. Down below this, it says User picture. This is where you can add an image to your profile, and I think this is a really important part of your bio. Let students see your picture, see what you look like, and begin to build rapport with you. So, in order to do this, I'm going to go down here, and I'll click inside where it says I can drag and drop. And once I do, it asks where I want to get it from. Is it a file that I have already inside of Moodle? In this case, I want to upload one from my computer. So I have it on Upload file, and I'll click on Choose File. Now on here, my desktop, I have an image of myself. I'm going to click this. And you can see here that it's loaded, so I'll go ahead and go Upload this file. Now, when I do, that file appears right here, you can see that, and I can scroll down. It will not save it though until I click on Update profile. Before I do that though, I want to make sure that I've entered in a picture description. In this case, it says Oliver Schinkten but I'll add Course Instructor Oliver Schinkten. Next, I can click on additional names. Here you could enter a phonetic spelling out of your name. You could enter in a middle name or an alternate name that you have. Here for Interests, you can add an interest, as well as some optional things such as a department number, phone number, and other things that you may want to share for your situation. When you're done, you can click on Update, and like that, you can see that I've now updated my profile. I have my picture and I have a little bio to go along with it. So, now my profile's updated and I'm ready to move on to the next step. If at any time I need to make changes to this, I can simply go back up to that dropdown menu, select Profile, and then go in here to Edit profile.
