- [Narrator] Some PCs keep a recovery copy of Windows on a special disk partition located on the primary storage device. To confirm, open the disk management console. Tap the Windows key and type computer management and choose the Computer Management item. From the list on the left side of the window, choose Disk Management. Here you see Disk 0, which is the PC's primary storage device. It shows three partitions are separate storage areas on the drive. The EFI partition stores the boot configuration program. Drive C is the Windows primary storage media, holding Windows, your programs, and all your files and folders. The recovery partition is accessed through the Windows Recovery Menu, a special startup screen that helps troubleshoot and repair Windows. Don't worry if you don't see the recovery partition. You can create a backup recovery partition on external storage, which I recommend you do even when a recovery partition exists on the computer's primary storage device. To create a…
