Understanding the animation interface
- Now Maya is used a lot for animation, so let's take a look at some of Maya's animation tools. We're going to start off with just the animation interface. So depending upon how Maya is set up you will have a timeline. Now, in most cases, it's along the bottom and you can just left click and drag to scrub that timeline. Or if you go over here, you can play it back. And if you click that again, you can stop it, or you can play it in reverse. Now, we also have a number of other controls. We can step forward or backwards a frame at a time. We can jump to the beginning or the end. And now this one here allows us to jump from key to key. So if I select this blimp, you'll see here we've got a number of different keys here on the timeline, and I can just jump from one to the next. And this is great when you're animating, it allows you to kind of quickly go from key to key. Now along the bottom, we have what's called the range…
