Prevent duplicate resource names

- [Instructor] Bonnie Biafore here. This week, we'll look at how to prevent Project from creating multiple resource records for the same person. We're going to start by going to the File tab and choosing Options. In the Project Options dialogue box, go to the advanced category, and then look for the general options for this project section. The first check box, Automatically Add New Resources And Tasks, is turned on. What this does is, if you type in a resource name that doesn't exist, Project will automatically add it for you. Now that seems like a great shortcut. For now, we're going to leave this turned on. I want to show you what this does, and how it can get you in trouble. So let's click Ok. I'm going to select the task Remove Fixtures And Cabinets. And let's say that I want to replace one of the resources with another resource named 'Gray William'. So I'm going to type in the resource name, but I'm going to misspell it. I type in Gray with an 'E', and misspell William. When I…
