Adding curtain walls
- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to explore curtain walls. Now I think the easiest way to understand the basics of a curtain wall is to just draw one. So I'm going to zoom in here near the front of my building and just draw a freestanding curtain wall out in space. Now how do you do that? You use the wall tool. Okay, so a curtain wall is a wall family. So you go to the wall tool, and then you just simply go to the type selector here on the properties palette and scroll down and locate your curtain wall types. So here under the curtain wall family, we have three types. I'll choose the third one called storefront, and I'll just pick any start point, start moving to the right. And in the imperial file, I'm going to type in 28 and press enter. If you're working in metric, type in 8400 millimeters. Now I'm going to either double escape or click the modify tool to cancel out of there and then zoom in on what we've created. Now you can already see that it's a little more complicated…
