Purging a file - Revit Tutorial
From the course: Revit 2026: Essential Training for Architects
Purging a file
- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to pause any new work on the model and actually talk a little bit about cleaning up the file and purging out items that we don't need. If you think about how we started this project, we started with the default template. And the default template was a multi-discipline template. So it includes items not just for architectural, which is our focus here in this course, but it also includes items for several other disciplines as well. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural. And we don't really need those items for the work that we're going to be doing here throughout this course. And so, really what we have here is a situation where the file is much larger than what we need it to be. And over time, that can eat up hard drive space, of course, and it can even start to affect performance. So, what I'd like to do is just walk through a process that you can perform every so often when you want to whittle down your file a bit and clean out…
