Install applications from a physical DVD
- [Instructor] You can install software to a Windows-based virtual machine instance, even if that software is installed on a DVD. Granted, this is becoming a lot less common, but some of us still have software stored on DVDs, and you can use that to install the software on a virtual machine instance. So if you take a look at the screen, you can see that I've got File Explorer open on my local pc. And right here, we have a physical DVD drive containing some software. So what I'm going to do is very similar to what I've done in the previous two videos. I'm going to right click on my RDP icon. I'll go to Show more options. And then I'll click Edit. When the Remote Desktop Connection page appears, I'm going to click on Local Resources, and then I'll click More. I'll expand Drives, and then I'm going to select the drive letter that corresponds to my Blu-ray disc. So it's BD-RE, that's the D drive. I'll click OK, and then I'll click Connect.
