What are objects?

- [Instructor] All right, now we're going to dive a little bit deeper into the Salesforce data model. And specifically, we're going to talk more about what an object actually is. So like I've talked before, an object is just a big group of data and it is typically a group of similar data or things that you're going to be repeating. So things like opportunities are also classified or called to as deals. And so anything in the opportunities object is going to be, or any records in the opportunities object is going to be an opportunity or a deal in the works. And most companies who are using Salesforce have a certain set of objects that they use and there isn't usually any type of one-off object that is needed for one or two records. They typically are kept into one of the main objects or maybe one of the custom objects, which is something we'll get into in just a little bit.
