- Skills-based hiring is a talent acquisition and following a hiring process that values skills and diverse experiences. There are vast ways people around the world gain valuable skills. Especially as universities become more and more expensive, people are finding new ways to gain the skills and competencies they need. So companies shifting away from degrees and towards skills in talent acquisition is not just a way to center equity. It's critical to business success. Organizations need to build fluency in skills so that they can make stronger hires, identify gaps in their workforce, and keep up with fast-changing organizational needs.
