Getting into observation mode
- [Narrator] Even before you can start composing better pictures using the elements and principles of art, you have to start seeing what you're shooting. That said, one of the most invaluable skills you can cultivate is observing. Take time to pay attention to detail. Begin to take notice of even the smallest things. And study the world around you with wonder and curiosity because these are the fundamentals of what I consider the art of observation, and they're the foundation of improving your photography. To effectively use the elements and principles of composition, you have to first notice and recognize them which just takes a little time and practice. Leaning into observation mode like this is the key to your overall artistic awareness.
