Using AI to prepare for your annual review

- Let's talk about annual reviews. For most people, this is their one big shot at career progression each year. If you don't take advantage of that, it's a whole 12 months until your next opportunity, so you really don't want to wing this one. The better prepared you are, the better your chances of getting what you're after. Actually, of all these prompts, this might be the one with the greatest chance of impacting your bank account. You're welcome. The prompt works by interviewing you about your role, your achievements, your boss' expectations, your goals and your targets, and how you hope to progress. Obviously, the more you share, the better the response you'll get. So if you're serious about that promotion and pay rise, please don't hold back. The prompt then gives you a summary of your achievements along with advice on how to talk about them. That's going to save you from overfocusing on one thing and watching your boss's face glaze over like a cheap donut. It then helps you present your requests in the most persuasive way, even going so far as to predict your boss's most likely objections, and giving you the arguments to counter them. To help you be totally prepared, it gives you a list of information to gather that proves the impact that you've had and it supports your requests. Now, of course, this won't help you much if you've lazily done the bare minimum all year, but I know you're not like that. You are an overachiever, I can tell. After you've had a good read through the output, you might want to move on to the next optional stage. This is where your AI assistant simulates your annual review meeting, taking on the role of your boss. I recommend that you use voice mode for this if you can, that will make it feel more natural and get you away from trying to craft and refine your words, because he won't be able to do that when you're having the meeting for real. So put a note in your diary to run this prompt a couple of weeks before your annual review. And then maybe add another note to send me an appreciative box of chocolates after you get your pay rise. So come and join me in the next lesson, and we'll give this prompt a spin around the block.
