From the course: Using AI Tools for UX Design

Expectations

- [Instructor] Before we get started on our project, I wanted to set the expectations for the course. I'm assuming you're an experienced UI/UX designer with a lot of knowledge using design tools. I will be using Figma throughout this course to store the outputs from the AI tools we'll be working with, but we won't be doing any actual work inside of Figma. So feel free to use Sketch or another design tool if you're more comfortable with those. I've created a fictional client so we can simulate an actual project, but I will stop short in this course of actually building out the client's website. I assume you already know how to build out a website concept, so I will focus only on how to leverage AI tools to create all the assets needed for the designing of the website. Also, keep in mind the course will cover several AI tools, so it's not meant to be a deep dive into any one tool, but rather an overview of how we can use these tools in our day-to-day workflow as UX designers. Many of the tools we will be reviewing are still in early beta phase, as this whole AI tool space is expanding very quickly right now. We won't use every tool, but I will walk you through how to use the most popular tools, then I'll briefly make you aware of alternatives so that you can make sure to keep track of them as they progress. I won't be posting any exercise files with this course since the content you generate as you follow this course will not be identical to what I'm creating. That's because of the inherent randomness of using these AI tools. For example, if you ask an AI tool for a picture of a coffee cup sitting on a desk and I ask it the same thing, we will get different results. So, as you follow along in the course, you're not going to be matching my output identically. What we're going to be doing is going through the process of using these tools during the different steps of our concepting of this website. You'll be doing it on your own and tweaking your own output. So the goal of the course is not to match my image assets, or any of the output I create. The goal is to go through the process and understand how to use the tools moving forward on your own.
