Robin - Is the four to one ratio for cost of electricity to gas based on a basic unit price without using a time based tariff? Is the ratio much closer when we look at a combination of solar/batteries and heat pumps? So should (if we can) be looking at a more combined solution?

Thanks for taking that question! Here's a feasibility study for a very exciting, county-wide heat network in East Lothian that would use multiple sources of waste heat and low-carbon heat, and would provide lower-cost, stable price heating to homes: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7350484207074177024/ They are aiming to make it a non-profit model as well (community-led or partnership with local authority).
