Great to see
Analogue to digital is a powerful shift and a no-brainer in today’s world. But how much deeper does it need to go? A lot deeper. Deep enough that it needs to start with the population itself. And that’s where the ‘treatment to prevention’ shift really comes into play. I've written an opinion piece exploring this idea - how data, wearables, and digital health can reshape the NHS. Part of me worries about data intrusion. But for Gen A? It might just be a no-brainer too. Take a read and let me know what you think. https://bit.ly/4eVglB6
It’s good to see staff wellbeing and culture being taken seriously in the long-term plan, especially with the goal of reducing sickness absence and improving retention. It would be helpful to first map where tools such as the HSE’s Stress Indicator Tool are already in use within NHS departments, then look to expand their adoption more broadly, from senior leaders down to frontline staff. These tools provide a clear, proven way to identify key causes of workplace stress, such as workload, support, and role clarity. It won’t fix everything, but it could give managers and leaders a clearer picture of where the pressure points are, and how things are changing over time. Used regularly, it could support better conversations with staff and help create healthier, more supportive workplaces across the system.
