Chief Partnerships Officer at Macmillan Cancer Support

Really great to spend the day in Glasgow with Macmillan Cancer Support colleagues from across Scotland - coming together to discuss how we achieve our mission in Scotland to reach everyone (particularly those having the worst experiences) and to spark a revolution in cancer care for the future. Scotland has built some of Macmillan’s most cutting-edge work to provide wraparound healthcare and community support for people living with cancer and it is home to many of Macmillan’s most effective and passionate colleagues, programme managers, fundraisers, volunteers, advocates, advisers and healthcare professionals. But we still have a mountain to climb. Scotland’s cancer outcomes are unacceptable and at risk of getting worse. More and more people are living with cancer. And who you are and where you live can determine your risk of cancer, your experiences of care and your survival. Thank you to our brilliant teams representing communities from all across Scotland, for your ideas, frank challenge and big ambition to ensure Macmillan better meets the needs of people living with cancer in Scotland and keeps fighting for the best cancer care for those having the worst experiences.

Great to have the opportunity to discuss Macmillan Strategy through a Scottish lens. It was lovely to catch up with colleagues I've not seen for a while and meet new ones too. Thanks to Gordon McLean for organising.
