There is now substantial evidence on how engagements with industry can influence and undermine public health goals and the mission and purpose of public health institutions. Having a robust policy for engagement with commercial actors is core to protecting the integrity, functions, and trustworthiness of public health organisations. The FPH is inviting all its members for the online launch event of our policy for governing engagement with commercial actors. https://lnkd.in/dWawucgz

The FPH ethics special interest group met (by weblink) on Wednesday: conflicts of interest and selling out vulnerable populations, for the interests of corporations, may be relevant to our future deliberations? This week political interference (e.g. anti-DEI changes in America) figured more than financial factors.... but integrity is a crucial element of public health, wherever we work.
