The imposter unicorn

The imposter unicorn

My book of "Useful Animals" is getting on well - might even publish it this year - and here's another one that I hope you'll like.

Do you suffer from Imposter Syndrome? If you do, then maybe the Unicorn can help.....

Upper levels gave you the job, and they know what they're doing, surely??

Nobody's perfect, so YOU don't have to be either. You're already fine!

Internal self-talk: tell yourself you CAN do it, you DESERVE it - "....because I'm WORTH it"

Comparisons - don't compare yourself with the best person in the company, or in the world!! That's NEVER going to make you feel good!

Objective measurement - judge yourself by the numbers, not your opinion. Are your sales OK? Are your costs within budget? Well then, you're doing fine.

Request feedback - I know it's scary, but it'll be fine, and then you'll feel mjuch better. Even if you just ask friends at work: others will reassure you that you're doing fine.

Network of support - have people to encourage you. They probably feel the same as you!!

onwards and upwards!

Haha, Chris, you're spot on, we all secretly think we're frauds pulling off the greatest heist since Ocean's Eleven, don't we? 😆 To beat that sneaky imposter syndrome, I've got a foolproof plan: Step 1, high-five your mirror self every morning (bonus points if you add a dramatic "You're a legend!"). Step 2, keep a "Win Jar" of tiny triumphs, like nailing that email without typos, to remind yourself you're not just winging it. And Step 3, channel your inner Spaniard (shoutout from sunny Valencia here) and flamenco-dance over doubts, because nothing says "I've got this" like passionate footwork! Your tips are gold; they've got me rethinking my own "imposter" moments. If anyone's battling this beast and wants some real strategies (or just some Mediterranean motivation), swing by my profile, let's connect and conquer! hashtag #ImposterSyndrome #PersonalGrowth #SelfConfidence

I dont believe in the term imposter syndrome. We are all from different experiences and "training" and would not always have the right approach but through exploration we will deliver the right solutions. Labeling seems to be more of a misaligned leadership ideology.
