LEGO® Insiders App General Statement:
This statement applies to the LEGO® Insiders App which is managed by the LEGO Group. It does not apply to any other content, web domains or applications owned and controlled by the LEGO Group. The LEGO Group is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all our users, including people with disabilities. We strive to make the LEGO® Insiders App a welcoming, usable, and inclusive experience for everyone.
We are continually improving the user experience for all and applying the relevant accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EN 301 549).
Current Status:
The LEGO Insiders App is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means that while the app largely meets accessibility standards, there are some areas that may not fully conform.
Known Issues:
We are aware of the following issues that we are actively working to improve:
- When users increase the text size up to 200%, certain components do not scale as expected. While this does not impact the core functionality of the app - such as account creation, browsing, or placing orders - we recognise this limitation and are prioritising a fix to ensure these components are fully responsive and accessible.
- On the Product Detail page, screen readers do not currently read or focus on the product images. This means that users relying on screen readers may not receive a description of the images shown. We recognize this limitation and are working to improve image accessibility in future updates.
- Screen readers may not always correctly announce whether checkboxes are selected or not. This can make it difficult for users relying on assistive technology to understand the current state of these form elements. We are aware of this issue and are working to improve the accuracy of screen reader feedback.
- While not a formal accessibility requirement, we understand that Dark Mode can improve readability and reduce eye strain for many users. We plan to introduce a Dark Mode feature in a future release to support diverse visual needs.
What we're Doing to Improve Accessibility
- Conducting regular accessibility audits and user testing with assistive technologies.
- Training our product and design teams in inclusive design practices.
- Prioritising accessibility bugs in our development roadmap.
- Planning incremental updates to improve areas of partial non-compliance.
