8.18 and 8.19 have the same compatibility as 8.3-8.17 in the table.

For 9.0:

• Snapshots taken in 8.0 and up can be restored normally
• Snapshots taken in 7.0-7.17 can be restored as read-only via the new N-2 support
• Snapshots taken in 5.0-6.8 can be restored as archive indices.

Yep that's my understanding too. This table is pretty much unusable today btw, it's not clear what the columns and rows mean at all:

Also I think it's incorrect to lump 7.0 and 7.1 together: 7.1 and 6.8 should be compatible, whereas 7.0 and 6.8 are not.

If that "we" is inclusive then sure, please open a PR. If it means "I want you to open a PR" then I'd rather defer this to the docs team. IMO it's more than just adding columns to this already-unusable table, we need to find a way to represent this information to users that isn't so confusing.
