𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃: ➡️ According to Irish Jobs, the construction sector was the second-highest paying industry in Ireland in 2024, with an average salary of €63.5k nationally. ➡️ With continuing labour shortages, we are seeing salaries continue to rise in 2025. ➡️ Counter offers are increasing as Construction companies do everything they can to retain staff. ➡️ Standard wage inflation is estimated at 2–3% for 2025 overall, however, construction continues to enjoy above-average increases due to skills shortages. 🚧 𝐏𝐎𝐋𝐋 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐈𝐍! 🚧 We recently asked the construction community here on LinkedIn: “𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐣𝐨𝐛?” Here’s how the votes landed: 🔹 Work-Life Balance – 69% 🔹 Project Type/Location – 19% 🔹 Compensation/Benefits – 13% 🔹 Company Reputation/Culture – 0% 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫: 🕒 Work-life balance is no longer a “nice to have”, it’s the top priority for construction professionals in Ireland. 💬 One surprising takeaway? 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞. In a market where employers work hard to build strong brands and internal culture, this result raises questions. Are these elements undervalued or simply expected as a given? Or does it reflect a deeper focus on immediate, tangible benefits like time and flexibility? As a recruiter, it’s clear: priorities are shifting. ✅ Employers: Is your workplace offering the balance people are looking for? ✅ Candidates: Are you thinking beyond salary and site? Would love to hear your thoughts. Are these results what you expected?

🚧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐕 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 – 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦 🏗️ We review hundreds of CVs from construction professionals every year—and some recurring issues can seriously affect your chances of landing the right role. Here are the most common pitfalls we see: 🔹 Missing 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 – Always include specifics: project type, location, and your role. 🔹 No mention of 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 – Employers want to know the scale you’ve worked at. 🔹 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 missing or out of date – Keep them current and clearly listed (e.g. SafePass, Manual Handling). 🔹 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 from oldest to newest – Always lead with your most recent role. 🔹 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 – Be honest and clear. Gaps are okay when explained. 🔹 CV doesn’t match your 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝𝐈𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞 – Consistency builds trust with hiring managers. 💡 A well-structured, honest, and detailed CV makes all the difference.
