Ce vendredi 25 juillet 2025 à Dakar, nous avons eu le plaisir d’échanger autour de cette question cruciale lors d’un petit-déjeuner dans le cadre du Good Start Challenge. Temps fort : 👉 Présentation d’une étude qualitative inédite menée au Sénégal sur les expériences des pères et accompagnant·es d’enfants en bas âge, soulignant les transformations psychologiques et les défis souvent invisibles qu’ils rencontrent. 👉 Deux discussions ont rythmé la matinée, autour des réactions à l’étude et des solutions innovantes pour soutenir la santé mentale parentale, avec les interventions inspirantes de : 🔹 Zoubida Fall – Auteure, productrice de podcasts, duKokalam 🔹 Magor DIA – Coordinateur général de Impact Social 221 🔹 Fatou Khouma – Psychologue en formation, présidente de Talk to Me 🔹 Alexandre Gubert Lette – Journaliste, directeur exécutif de Teranga Lab 🔹 Minata SARR – Docteure en droit, fondatrice de Mission & Sens Le Good Start Challenge est une initiative internationale dotée de 2,6 millions d’euros, portée par la Van Leer Foundation et Challenge Works, avec le soutien de Fundação Maria Cecilia Souto Vidigal, FEMSA Foundation et The LEGO Foundation. Caregiving is central to humanity but almost invisible in research and policy. Why is that? When Rich Felisia found out he was going to become a father, he was only 24. “I grew up without a father so I already knew I wanted to be the best father I could be: the father I never had,” Rich says. But then his son Mason was born prematurely at 28 weeks. Rich felt isolated, powerless and unsure where to turn for help. As Project Leader of Daddy’s Place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Rich has created the kind of support network he wished he’d had and a safe space where fathers aged 17–35 can connect.
