About us

HEB Construction Ltd has grown from humble beginnings into one of the leading civil construction companies in New Zealand. We provide our clients with a diverse multi-disciplined civil engineering infrastructure capability that helps to sustain the communities in which we work. This capability includes the construction of sub-divisions, roads and bridges (including pavements and surfacing), storm water drainage, pumping stations, water and waste water treatment plants, as well as piling, wharf construction, precast concrete elements and landscaping. After 35 years of private ownership, in 2015, HEB Construction became a member of the VINCI Construction International Network (VCIN). Founded in 1899 as Société Générale d´Enterprises, based in Paris, VINCI employs over 185,000 people in over 100 countries. They are one of the top 50 companies listed on the European Stock Exchange and are engaged in work across many construction sectors, including rail networks, energy projects, airports, highways, bridges and hydro dams. HEB Construction’s fundamentals form an excellent fit with those of VINCI. As part of VINCI, HEB Construction now provide the three core principles of engineering excellence, value for money and collaborative ‘easy to do business with’ contracting, complemented by the financial and technical support of the VINCI Construction International Network.

  • 🦺 Not all heroes wear capes – some wear high-vis! 🦺 During a site visit in Selwyn, we spotted our team member Malcolm looking out for pedestrians. When a grandmother struggled to cross the road we were working on with her pushchair, Malcolm didn’t hesitate. With a big smile and a helping hand, he stepped in, lifted the pushchair over the rough patch, and made her day a little easier – and a lot safer 👏 Ka pai Malcolm and the Southern traffic management team for looking out for the community. That’s the HEB way 💛 #ArohaInAction #SiteSafety #EverydayHeroes

  • Te Ahu a Turanga – Manawatū Tararua Highway opened several weeks ago, restoring vital connections across the lower North Island after the Manawatū Gorge route closed permanently in 2017 due to significant landslips 🛣️ But this 11.5km, four-lane highway between Woodville and Ashhurst is more than just a transport link, it’s a testament to the long-term value we create for our people and communities when we lead with care, work with openness and build better together 🤝 Working together with NZ Transport Agency / Waka Kotahi, Fulton Hogan, WSP, Aurecon, and iwi partners Rangitāne ki Manawatū, Rangitāne o Tamaki nui a rua, Ngāti Kauwhata, Ngāti Kahungunu and Ngāti Raukawa, we’re proud to have contributed to a project that embodies our values and our five sustainable outcomes pillars: Our people, Our Tikanga, Our Environment, Our Communities and Our Value Chain 🌿 Delivered in HEB's 50th year, Te Ahu a Turanga brought together: • Meaningful iwi partnership grounded in tikanga • Engineering innovation across every stage of the value chain • Environmental stewardship • People-centred approach that strengthened our communities and workforce Together, we’ve not only built a highway — we’ve helped shape a more connected, resilient, and sustainable future for generations to come 🛣️ #buildingbettertogether #infrastructure #engineering

  • 🌿 Manu-kau Noa Iho / Hayman Park Repo (Wetland): Supporting nature for the future 🌿 We’re proud to help transform Manu-kau Noa Iho / Hayman Park in Manukau into an ecological and cultural taonga. Our works include regenerating the whenua to its natural wetland form, enhancing stormwater management, and revitalising habitats for taonga species. We're also adding new footpaths, boardwalks, and seating, to create welcoming spaces for people to relax and reconnect with nature.  We’re supporting Auckland Council's Auckland Urban Development Office and Healthy Waters Flood Resilience teams, who are leading this work in partnership with mana whenua and in collaboration with Isthmus, Urban Solutions, Dendrology, DVQS, GHD, and Renature. #UrbanRegeneration #EcologyInAction #WetlandRestoration

  • Our 2024 & 2025 graduates came together for their mid-year development week, a chance to reconnect with each other, reflect on how far they’ve come, and look ahead to what’s next ✨ The week offered a valuable mix of learning, connection, and fun, helping our emerging talent navigate the challenges and opportunities of life in the construction industry 👷♀️ 👷 A "high point" of the week was walking over the iconic Harbour Bridge, getting a different perspective and seeing first-hand the value infrastructure brings to a city 🌉 A huge thank you to Auckland Systems Management (ASM) team for showing us around — your support and insights made the experience even more special.  We’re proud of what our grads have achieved so far and excited to see how they’ll continue to grow in the next part of their journey 🛣️ #CareerHighlight #NextGeneration #Grads
